Is a charter school a public school?

 

Yes, a Charter School is a public school.

 

Do you offer benefits?

 

Yes, we have an excellent benefits package that includes dental and health

insurance.

 

Do you offer a retirement system?

 

Yes, all Erin Dudley Forbes Charter School (EDFCS) employees must enroll in the Pennsylvania Retirement System (PSERS).  PSERS is mandatory.

 

Do I have to have a criminal and abuse check before I am employed at EDFCS?

 

Yes, all employees must have a criminal and abuse check before they are hired.

 

Do I have to be certified to teach at EDFCS?

 

At EDFCS, we prefer teachers who are certified, however Charter Schools are allowed 25% not certified.  We encourage you to submit your application if you are certified or not.

 

Do I have to complete the Pennsylvania Standard Teaching Application to Apply?

 

Yes, all public schools in Pennsylvania require the Standard Teaching Application for employment.

Our philosophy or mission is to provide the very best early childhood possible using culturally relevant children’s literature.

 

 Is EDFCS diversified?

 

Yes, we pride ourselves on being a diverse school including staff and student body.  One of the mottos that we live by is “Kids who learn together, learn to live together.”

 

What curriculum do you use?

 

We currently use Saxon math, Wright Group Reading and Writing Program, FOSS and STS for Science, and Evan-Moor for Spelling.
